Ayurvedic Cooking & Kitchen Pharmacy
Jointly organised by the Ayurveda Association of Singapore (AAOS) and the Republic Polytechnic (School of Applied Science) in conjunction with the Singapore Science Month.

Participants will learn about the science of Ayurveda and its applications to Kitchen Pharmacy. As food is a major part of Ayurveda, it is not only seen as nourishing the body but also the mind, intellect and inner balance.
The workshop will cover the knowledge and use of herbs, spices, vegetables and legumes to maintain physical, mental, social and spiritual harmony.

The method of Ayurveda cooking in which various ingredients typically used in Ayurveda are combined to prepare food that provide optimal health will be demonstrated. According to Ayurveda, the sense of taste is a natural guide map towards proper nutrition. Participants will explore the preparation of Ayurveda foods that are appetizing, flavourful and aromatic, and offer healing and good health when served in an inspiring atmosphere.

Ayurvedic Herbal Drinks : 2 sessions per course
Jointly Organised by the Ayurveda Association of Singapore (AAOS) and People’s Association (PA) of Singapore

These 2 Session events will be held at different Community Centres (CCs) and Fort Canning Park.

On the first session, participants learn the art of making Ayurvedic herbal drinks. The workshop will focus on recipes using these herbs and spices (found in kitchen) for common ailments. Recipes will include Anti-flu; Diabetes; Brain Booster.

For the second session participants will learn to identify the various herbs found in the parks that can be used for common ailments. They will identify which parts of the plant (leaves, fruits, bark, root etc) are used for common ailments and herbs used for Flu, Diabetes and General Health.
